It's a bit of old news, but it's still disappointing. Speedy recovery, Bono!
High Five Etiquette - I found this entertaining. It reminded me of the video made about the "F" word several years ago.
This one had me rolling! Hilarious! and clever.
This video hit the big time this week all around the internet. This little baby is darling. He just received a cochlear implant in his right ear and this is his response to the first noises he hears:
I thought this little kitty fight video was so well done, in it's 30's style narration.
I was needing a 'boxer fix' so I looked up boxer puppies and found this so-cute video:
Finally, here is a little tribute to the Memorial Day holiday:
I have one picture I took a few years ago, at Eric's Grandpa's funeral that would be fitting for the Memorial Day weekend:

New Camera
I'm almost giddy with excitement *blink* *blink* - I finally decided to get the camera I really want. After weighing out the benefits of this camera to that camera and discussing it with EVERYBODY who has an opinion on DSLR cameras (Cannon vs. Nikon vs. Olympus vs. Sony), I finally decided to go with the Nikon D90. AND I love it! I can't stop taking pictures of everything to test out EVERY SINGLE setting and lighting and angle. And now, of course, I have the various lenses I "just have to have" all lined up for my Birthday and Christmas wish lists.
My poor dogs hate it when it comes out of the bag. If I had kids, they would hate it too. Literally, my dogs hide they faces under their paws. Tamika even sighed at me the other day. If a dog could roll his eyes, Casey came as close as possible to that last night. SO, I will be testing it out and attending workshops and going everywhere to take pictures of everybody I know. Ha ha ha ha!

So I thought I would post pictures I have taken with my various cameras as I've upgraded over the past couple of years. It seems that I like to take pictures of the Cathedral of the Madeleine from the balcony of our downtown building. So here they are:
2007 - Coolpix 3100:
2008 - Coolpix S51:
2009 - Nikon P80:
2010 - Nikon D90: The P80 has taken some really fantastic pictures, and I am keeping it with me (once I get a dial repaired). But the D90 is fun and will be used, as well. Yay!
So Mark, Shauna, Jess and Amy: if you have any suggestions on lenses and/or any other suggestion, send them my way. Anybody else, the suggestion is ALWAYS welcome.

Aquarium Visit
Last weekend, we went to the Aquarium in Sandy with Evan, Kirsten, Chance, Ryan and Dax. I always really enjoy the relaxing nature of such a visit. I think as work stress increases through the summer and fall (as we know it will with the big changes coming), I will head out to the aquarium and learn to relax.
Here are some of my favorite pictures from the day:
My favorite, by far, was this Blue Dart Frog. (there were two in there)
This penguin swam back and forth in front of me several times before taking off. It was like he was wanting his picture to be taken. Cute!
This is an electric eel and was kind of creepy. He didn't move at all.
I can't remember what this fish is actually called, but the nick name is "four eyes." They have eyes that allow them to see above and below the water's surface at the same time.
Two jelly fish videos I shot with my camera....I loved it and will have to spend more time there, next time.

Friday Night Videos
I loved the Twilight books but haven't seen any of the movies. (I will eventually, I'm sure.) Eric forwarded me this, and it amused me so here it is:
I really hate when great videos are unable to be embedded from YouTube. Lame! Anyway: Happy Anniversary, Pac-Man!
I wasn't sure I wanted to see this movie...but it looks like it might be entertaining.
Watching jelly fish is so relaxing! sleepy time.
I love watching the Nature shows and National Geographic for various types of documentaries. This isn't one I've seen, but it looks interesting:

Friday Night Videos
I gave my notice at my second job - the one where I work Friday nights. I haven't decided if I'll keep this feature or if I'll "shake it up" and do something else. I have so much fun finding various videos, so I might just keep doing it. We'll see.
I have a real dislike for Glenn Beck...I think he sells out his own faith and he's a promoter of fear and hatred. I have to say that when I saw this, it was interesting and entertaining.
I found this video shocking and so sad! It's shocking and hard to see the impact of one company, one oil rig, one explosion that has become a tremendous disaster.
Neil Degrasse Tyson speaks on a meteor that could barely miss earth:
Lightening things up a bit:
He Man sings for us:
This last video reminds me of what I imagine my friend Shauna's kids would say to themselves in the mirror. I love it! So cute!

Things That Must Go
1. The BP Oil Company! Pretty self explanatory with just that.
2. Obama haters.
Not the people who honestly question or wonder about some of the policies but the true haters who refuse to consider ANYTHING he says simply because he's a democrat? first black president? what is it!? I'm so tired of these crazies asking - demanding - to see his birth certificate. Really? You can't be a U.S. Senator without being born in the United States.
3. Chain e-mails . . .
. . .from family and friends that say something to the effect of: "I don't normally forward these but I liked the message." How about you just don't forward it? The message is usually pretty lame. I've gotten to where I just delete the e-mail without reading it. Hey, I know! Just don't forward them.
4. The saying: “are you panties in a twist?”
but not panties (with a ‘T’), it’s "pannies." I always want to take mine off right there, and ask, “I don’t know, are they?” Shock the hell out of them. I don’t ask you about your jock strap, or any part of your anatomy and under clothing….how is it okay for you to ask me about my underclothing? In reality, it’s a degrading phrase……so next time you seem frustrated (valid or not), I’ll ask you the same thing: “is your penis in a twist?" or "Not getting’ any from the missus?” Doesn’t it make you feel like you’re respected when I degrade you down to that?
5. People and companies who promote the need of now!
I was at Best Buy asking them about the camera I want. I wanted to know the benefits of their lay-away program versus their financing program. Two different people, independent of each other, said, “well, with financing you walk out the door with the camera. With lay-away, you have to wait until it’s paid off.” Oh, really….gosh is that the difference? No kidding, Professor! I’m wanting to know the DIFFERENCES – is there a fee? What kind of deposit is required? etc.....

Friday Night Videos
Although I have made my peace, some times, more than other times, I get frustrated with the powers above, that Eric and I don't have the family we have wanted. This news story made me feel that frustration...how can some people be "blessed" with kids and be such terrible parents, when there are so many childless couples who would make great parents? I'm sure this will be a conversation I will have with my maker some day. Really, I hope this mom recieves the help she needs and is able to be a mom to her kids.
I've been surprised by the enthusiastic support of Utahns for the new Arizona immigration law. It's shocking that, number 1: it passed. Number 2: People who I have called my friends don't have any issue with the law as it's writen and hope to see it here in Utah soon. When I saw this video, I felt some appreciation for the frustration that caused this video to be created:
I found this information to be a big shocker and I suspect most people are completely unaware that this is yet ANOTHER way to have your information leaked out and about:
On a lighter note, I am going to make one of these "magic balls" and see if I can duplicate this experiment:
Okay, so these videos are on the serious side. I think I'll leave off with an old favorite:

Friday Night Videos
Eric and I recently expanded our gaming life into the Xbox 360. Since then, we have introduced ourselves the game of Halo. We only play every couple of weeks, so we aren't making a ton of progress in a quick way, and we're still only on the first Halo. None the less, it is a fun and challenging game. This fall, the newest version will be released. Here's the trailer:
I thought this was kind of interesting and cool...a robot balancing on a ball:
I was reading my Friend's Blog tonight about the techniques she is using to teach her kids the three languages they are learning. It made me think of this video I saw earlier this week:
This commercial makes me laugh...it's so lame and yet so funny! Sometimes, training a DOS based system to adults can feel close to hearding cats.
My friend shared this on facebook and I loved it!
Kind of a short list, but this is what I had on hand.
