Senior Portraits

I took some senior portraits of two great young people this year.

My second cousin Chris was born while I was on my mission and it's crazy to see him graduating from high school! He's such a well rounded kid with a great personality. We had fun chatting. I've already posted the photo-shopped image of the zombies but here are my favorite shots of his photo session:

I also had a photo session with Mercedes, my coworker's boyfriend's daughter :) I did their Christmas pictures and the whole family was really fun. She is a beautiful girl who was easy to photograph. I would take two photos and say, "k! I got what I need from there, what else can we do?" We had fun wandering around the Great Salt Lake taking pictures. Here are my favorites:

Fun with Photoshop

I took some photos a week ago. As we looked through the pictures, the comment was made: "it looks like I'm down and out in my luck."

Here's the original photo straight from the camera:

I edited it along with the others from the batch by cropping it and adding some contrast:

Chris is a zombie nut like me so I thought it would be fun to add this lonely looking image to an apocalyptic image and add some zombies. I found the following images online:

A background:

A swarm of zombies (off in the background):

A few zombies:

A couple of weapons:

Smoke for a smoking gun:

A bug out bag:

Some dead zombies from the Walking Dead:

Blood splatter:

With all that in hand, I blended the image and the back ground together first:

Once that was completed, I added the other elements for this completed image. Chris wanted a smoking gun in his hand with a few dead zombies around. Here's the final image (make sure to click on it to see it full screen):

Great Salt Lake Photos

While Sandy was in town, we hung out with Richard and his kids. We took them on a cold and windy day, to the Great Salt Lake (near Saltair) and took pictures. We'd hoped to get the sun setting, but it was c-c-c-cold! It was nice that my dad could join us for pictures.

It was fun to watch them run around suggesting pictures for my project. We had too much fun. I just love when my family is together.

Photos of the Kiddies

I am SO far behind in my updates! WAY back in February, I took pictures of Richard's adorable kiddies at a visit to Wheeler Farm. Here are my favorites:

Evelyn

I'm always a little hesitant to do a photoshoot, considering my lack of education on the matter. I'm excited to be in a photography class at the community college and have learned a ton of things to connect the dots from what I've learned through experimentation, to why those choices work.

A few weeks ago, I did a photoshoot with Christina's baby. I did a photoshoot with Christina back in September; this is sweet Evelyn:
I'm hoping that I will begin to see things in a newer light as I learn more about photography in my class. In the mean time, I've been lucky enough to see what I want to see through the lens of my camera.
