Celebrating my Birthday

We spent the day at Echo Reservoir. I was thrilled to share the day with my brother and his family, as well as Eric's family. It was truly a great day. My favorite way to spend my birthday, anyway.

Here are the pictures from that day:

Me and Eric with the glassy lake behind us:

The water was SO high and perfect glass!!

I was thrilled to see that my new camera took the moon without much effort. Yay!

Hogle Zoo Visit

June 23: We spent the morning with too many people at the Hogle Zoo. We were there at the perfect time because the animals were moving around. Although there were a lot of people, it was really fun.

Here are my faves!

This tiger was chillin' at the window...and then he looked right at me and seemed to be mesmerized...posing for me. Love it!

Such cute little meerkats!

Cute monkey needed a hug...ahhhhhhh.

Mr Gorilla was staring out through window...waiting for me to take his picture. :)

Chance with Uncle Ryan on the meri-go-round.

I love taking pictures of Sir Chance-a-lot.

June 22: Kennecott & International Peace Garden

June 22: Eric and I drove out to Kennecott to take a tour. I'd never been but I'd always wanted to go. I was in awe of the size and all the Kennecott is doing to keep the environment clean. None of the pictures can truly depict the immensity of the the trucks or the mine, but here are my faves:

Driving to the mine:
Looking down into the mine:
You can see a school bus...it helps compare to the size of the trucks. Crazy:
Coming out of the visitor's center, I was these two security guards watching the trucks below:

Later that day, Eric and I visited the International Peace Gardens. The flowers had just been planted, but it was really peaceful and quiet:

I looked through some trees and found this man sitting quietly on this bench:
Walking to one of the areas, I saw these three ladies in the refuge of the shade. I loved the way they stood there breifly before moving back out into the sun:

On the way out, this girl was entering for a photo shoot for her quinceaƱera:

Willard Bay in June

We make many trips to Willard Bay with Eric's family. When we aren't at Willard Bay, we head to Echo Reservoir. In our first outting for the year, we started out at Willard Bay.
June went from late-spring-like weather and jumped feet first into summer-like weather. HOT! Near water, is where you're likely to find us on the weekends. Here are the pictures that I loved from that first outting on June 20. As usual, most of the pictures are of Chance...a few of everybody else.

Eric's family has definitely become my own family. I am grateful for them all.

Friday Night Videos

Update on Saturday. tee hee hee. I've been TOO crazy busy!! So here's the find:

With a month of World Cup, I'v re-fallen in love with the game. Of course, I was thrilled to watch Uruguay play their games. They were so exciting to watch. So here are a couple of World Cup vidoes:

GoooooooOOOL!

Uruguay:

Uruguay v. Ghana....very intense game surrounded by contraversy.

I know that so many are angry with Uruguay for that "hands" move at the end of the game. Many have called them cheaters...but I don't think anybody, in the exact same circumstances wouldn't have done the exact same thing to protect their team. In addition, Uruguay paid the penalty: 1. Suarez was red-carded and not permitted to play in the next game. 2. Ghana was given a penalty shot and missed. It's not like the ref didn't see that hands...they did pay the price. Suarez is not a villain...Uruguay has played like the fighters they are. Vamos Uruguay!
