June: Touring SLC

June has been a very busy month for me and Eric. We started off busy and it's been go, go, go, the whole time. I know we aren't alone because June began with some pretty crappy weather and we all just wanted summer to get here. Well, it did!

Here are some of our adventures! (more will come later)

Picture from the Gay Pride Celebration in SLC:

We took a tour of the Cathedral of the Madeleine during our lunch break. Here are the faves from that day:

We explored other areas in Salt Lake City, but those will come in a later post.

Friday Night Videos

So, I've been super summer-time-busy and haven't been collecting videos. BUT, I do have a few that I've seen and liked:

A movie that I want to see: Megamind. Looks entertaining:

And speaking of movies, I have loved love loved Pixar's films and their short videos. This one ALWAYS makes me laugh:

Last is this silly video:

Friday Night Videos

This week I found some videos that made me laugh. Here they are:

I found this video so interesting...I've often wondered if I could survive if I had to grow my own food. Here's a family that does:

I loved this ninja cat! ha ha ha ha!

I love learning more and more about photography. I've learned that I really need paticence to get the shot I want. Sometimes I have it and other times I push it and miss a great oportunity. I love when things fall into place, though.

I couldn't resist this one. I got such a good laugh out of this one:

I am a huge sim fan (as I've mentioned in previous entries). I have not loaded the Sims 3, yet, but I found this video entertaining.

Are you kidding me!?

So! Summer wouldn't be summer if I didn't welcome it with an injury! I was out with Kirsten on Saturday, May 29. We were in the grocery store parking lot. I was returning the shopping cart to the cart return and I didn't see the rock! But I thought I would take a closer look at it and rolled my ankle on it.

"Hello, Jagged Rock! Not so nice to meet you!"

The sailor emerged from the mouth and the profanities spilled out as I bit back the tears.

It was eleven o'clock at night, so it was dark. Several cars in the parking lot turned on their brights and watched me writhe there in the darkness - cursing. I could see their silhouettes. Finally, out of nowhere, this guy came out to help me. Kirsten pulled the car up to me, because there was no way I was walking to the car. I got into the car and wept like a little girl. Stupid rock!

The guy who came to help me spoke broken English. He waved to me as he closed the door and in a thick accent, with a little smile, said, "Good luck." Indeed.

Here are the pictures as the bruises emerged through the first week.

May 29 - the day of the injury.

May 30 - Day 2
May 31 - Day 3

June 1 - Day 4

June 2 - Day 5

June 4 - Day 7

So, that is how I welcomed summer!

Friday Night Videos

I love posting video finds too much to just walk away simply because I'm not longer working my graveyard job....so, here are the videos I have for this week...no real theme, just videos that caught my eye, or made me smile, or made me think.

Things I Have Worried About. I like the way this guy draws and narrates his thoughts.

Kirsten posted this video on her facebook and it made me laugh so hard. After watching it several more times, I still laugh about it, so here it is. Word of Caution: swears are involved....so keep the kiddies away, or just don't play it.

Vaughn Ward HATES Obama, and yet he has not qualm with plagiarizing Obama. Jack Ass:

This is an old commercial but I think these kids are so dang cute!!

Cute little Iron Baby video!

I am so excited to see Uruguay play in the World Cup finals and will be watching at the edge of my seat. This is one of the ads that is running for the World Cup. So great!

An Evening at the Lisonbee's

Tuesday evening, Eric and I drove to Richard's house for dinner with him and his family. I was excited to test out the telephoto lens on my camera. Elise and Andrew jumped on the trampoline across the yard so I could get plenty of pictures.

Of course, I have my favorite shots of the night (and there were many, so this is narrowed down).
Elise is such a little performer. And I always get the best shots of her because she loves to have her picture taken:

Elise and Andrew: good friends and bad enemies...they love eachother one minute and hate eachother the next. Here's a good friend day.

Elise

Richard can BBQ...that's for sure.

Memorial Day Dinner

On Sunday, Laura and John hosted a lovely bar-b-que in their back yard, on their new patio. It was a wonderful afternoon....not too warm, not too cold. Perfect.
Unfortunately, I was feeling pretty crappy from my fall the night before and went in after the burger. So, I owe Laura a full sit down evening sometime this summer.

While I was back there, I did take pictures from the chair. Here are my favorites:

Chance - hamming it up:

John. Eric's dad actually let me snap off a few shots of him.

John got embarrassed that I was constantly there with the camera aimed at him.

Chance looking for drinks? who knows. He just likes getting into things he shouldn't get into.

Laura always has such a beautiful garden. A plethura of flowers.
