Friday Night Videos

Okay, so I'm posting this on Saturday night, but I meant to post it last night.

I am a big Star Trek fan and loved the new movie. I was lucky to not have heard any of the spoilers prior to seeing the movie, so I was surprised when certain things were revealed. That said, I found this Audi commercial entertaining...I love Leonard Nimoy...so funny!:

I love this lip sync-off between John Krasinski and Jimmy Fallon:

Because I have huskies this one made me laugh. Mine talk to me all the time, too:

With the Pride festival/parade coming up, I thought I would post this video:

Senior Portraits

I took some senior portraits of two great young people this year.

My second cousin Chris was born while I was on my mission and it's crazy to see him graduating from high school! He's such a well rounded kid with a great personality. We had fun chatting. I've already posted the photo-shopped image of the zombies but here are my favorite shots of his photo session:

I also had a photo session with Mercedes, my coworker's boyfriend's daughter :) I did their Christmas pictures and the whole family was really fun. She is a beautiful girl who was easy to photograph. I would take two photos and say, "k! I got what I need from there, what else can we do?" We had fun wandering around the Great Salt Lake taking pictures. Here are my favorites:

Excited for the Sims Island Paradise Expansion

As a Sims fan and player, I have spent a lot of time, energy and money on expansion and stuff packs. There have been a lot of great items and interactions released in various expansions but the one thing I have wanted from the beginning is the ability to go boating with my Sims.

In real life, my family enjoys time boating, skiing, and time at Lake Powell on house boats as a family.

This year, for my birthday (well, the day after) the expansion will finally be released to allow that to happen. Yay!

Granted, I rarely play any more.  Maybe once a month, but it's still fun to escape real life and play my Sims life.

And, EA announced the exciting news that The Sims 4 will be release next year....that will be interesting to see how that's played.

Another Photoshop Project

A coworker asked if I'd be willing to help him clean up an old family photo:

He mentioned that his sister on the left is 13 years old and because of the way she's standing closer to the camera she looks like she's dis-proportionally larger than his 12 year old brother standing in the back. He wondered if I could bring her to a more appropriate size. (eek)
And he mentioned that this is the only photo where his sister is being held by his mom, so he wondered if I could crop the two of them out completely.

I spent a few hours cleaning up the image and was fortunate to be able to make his 13 year old sister more proportionate to the rest of the family. Here are the two cleaned up images:

I hope these make him happy.

Fun with Photoshop

I took some photos a week ago. As we looked through the pictures, the comment was made: "it looks like I'm down and out in my luck."

Here's the original photo straight from the camera:

I edited it along with the others from the batch by cropping it and adding some contrast:

Chris is a zombie nut like me so I thought it would be fun to add this lonely looking image to an apocalyptic image and add some zombies. I found the following images online:

A background:

A swarm of zombies (off in the background):

A few zombies:

A couple of weapons:

Smoke for a smoking gun:

A bug out bag:

Some dead zombies from the Walking Dead:

Blood splatter:

With all that in hand, I blended the image and the back ground together first:

Once that was completed, I added the other elements for this completed image. Chris wanted a smoking gun in his hand with a few dead zombies around. Here's the final image (make sure to click on it to see it full screen):
