As a birthday gift, Chance was given a pony ride. A month after his birthday, in October, we headed to the stable to meet the pony and watch him have his ride. He ended up riding a full grown horse instead. It took him a while to overcome his initial fears and misgivings but once that was over, he had a ton of fun. I had fun following him with my camera in tow taking pictures of him.
Meeting the pony. He was afraid and we weren't sure he'd even consider riding the pony, much less the horse.
The pony was very curious of my camera. He came right up to the camera many times.
After a little while, Chance and the pony walked around and became cute little friends.
John walked the horse around with Chance and the owner (can't remember her name).
It's hard to see his big beaming smile through the sun's beams, but it is there.
Chance is such a little flirt. He charmed these two with his little stories.

Birthday 2012
As usual, I spent my birthday at The Lake. It was especially nice to spend the day with my family and friends.
With the fires and wind, the smoke blew in about half way through the day, and filled the sky. We didn't play in the water too much but we had great conversation and food.
I was touched by the birthday greetings and love shared on me that day.

May Round-Up
May zipped right on by, didn't it!? It was chalk full of busy as the weather warmed up and we all sat in anticipation of summer.
One of my favorite photos this month was the puff shot!
We took a walk up City Creek with the kiddos:
Eric and I helped Evan pack up and move his stuff.........by "Eric and I," I really mean: Eric helped Evan pack up his stuff. I watched and played with Chance.
I celebrated 15 years at the University of Utah. FIFTEEN YEARS!!! I started working there with the intent of one and a half years...fifteen years later. Time! It zips right on by!
Eric and I drove to St George to help honor Clinic 1A (Infectious Disease Clinic) for their work in HIV.
We drove to Kamas and watched Elise's dance recital.
Memorial Day was spent taking flowers around to the various cemeteries where our families are resting in peace. I saw this little girl playing in the flags.

Chance's 3rd Birthday Pictures
This year, Chance's birthday was celebrated at Sugarhouse Park with both of the families. It's always interesting to see the two families get together (a bit of a collision, really). Being a social person, myself, I never have a problem with either side. Thank goodness.
And if I DO have a problem with someone, the camera is a bit like a cigarette, in that I can always step out to "take pictures." LOL!
Here are the pictures I loved at Chance's birthday:
Alexis smiles at the camera:

Chillin' with Chance
Eric and I took Chance to the boat show last weekend. He was too much fun and was so well behaved.
I told him that I had two rules:
1. He had to stay in his stroller and I'd leave the belt off
2. If he wanted to go into a boat, he just had to tell us
He was so funny. At every boat, he pointed and asked, "in?" So, in we went.
Afterwards we took him to Pirate O's. It's one of our favorite places to go to find some really unique cooking items.
Here are my fun pictures.
Chance found the horn in every single boat! It was pretty funny because you could always spot where we were:
Chance throwing a University of Utah football....that's right!
Eric and Chance explore a large boat - the kind of boat you'd see in Lake Powell:
*Honk!*

Chance's 2nd Birthday
How much better can it be for a two year old? Have two birthday parties, two cakes and a double dose of center of attention. That's how Chance's 2nd birthday was celebrated (clear back in August).
Here are some of the pictures taken at his two parties. Pictures from party #1.

Perfect reaction to any gift, I'd say:
Mr Potato Head filled with more potato head family members:
Party #2 and Laura and John's house:
I loved his smile in this picture as he's ready to blow out the candles:
The first attempt to blow out the candles didn't work...so he re-adjusted himself in the chair and tried again:
While I was at it, I thought I'd try out my new macro lens on various flowers in Laura's garden. Here's on of the shots:
To answer the question that's been posed to me: I love my new camera...I have had a blast experimenting with lighting and camera settings. Love, love, love it!
